The Board of West Wiltshire Enterprise Limited (WWE) has agreed to “substantially support” bid proposals from business members of the Mid Wiltshire Economic Partnership (MWEP – which initiated the Six Towns and a Vale… programme) that are designed to play a critical role in resolving deep-rooted issues that are undermining the ability of Wiltshire to meet its long-term strategic economic requirements. Specifically, the Board of WWE has “agreed to allocate the sum of £34,225″ towards the cost of a six-stage programme designed to deliver business community leadership of the long-term restructuring of the economy of the five towns covered by the former West Wiltshire District Council (Bradford on Avon, Melksham, Trowbridge, Warminster and Westbury).

The Board has also agreed the MWEP proposal that WWE Ltd should be renamed and restructured as Mid Wiltshire Enterprise Limited.
